Our Story
Southern Script was originally founded by two local Lexington moms, Heather and Lisa, rooted in the same community and lifestyle that still defines the brand today.
In 2019, Southern Script entered a new chapter when it was purchased by myself and my former business partner and lifelong friend, Karen. Together, we built on that foundation — growing the brand within the same community that has supported it from the very beginning.
Today, I’m proud to carry Southern Script forward into its next era while staying deeply connected to the families, schools, teams, and local traditions that make this community so special.

Hi Y’all — I’m Kara
I’m a lifelong South Carolina native — I grew up in Irmo and now live in Lexington on Lake Murray with my husband, a retired military commissioned veteran.
I’m a proud mom of four, and our life has always centered around sports, school spirit, family, and showing up for the moments that matter. All four of my kids are athletes, with three now grown, two having competed at the collegiate level, and my youngest heading to The Citadel on a football scholarship.
My daughter’s journey has also been a huge part of our family story — from pageantry, where she was a 2nd runner-up at a national pageant, to becoming a national champion college cheerleader. Those experiences gave us a front-row seat to the world of performance, team culture, spirit wear, big milestones, and all the details that make those moments feel special.
Our family connection runs deep throughout Lexington, River Bluff, Gilbert, and the surrounding schools and communities. Between my own children, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, teams, and school events, we have lived the spirit wear life from every angle — athletes, parents, fans, volunteers, and proud supporters.
That local connection matters. Southern Script isn’t just making shirts or gifts for strangers — we’re creating for the same kinds of families, teams, schools, and communities we are part of every single day.
And like any busy family, our home wouldn’t be complete without Indie, our Seal Point Siamese and Rocky, our Malti Poo, who are very much part of the everyday chaos, joy, and love that keeps life full.
